An evening of Remembrance of the Easter Sunday attacks was held at the Dutch hospital complex on 21 May which was attended by Secretary to the Ministry of Tourism Mr. S Hettiarachchi, Kishu Gomes Chairman SLTDA/ SLTPB and Johann Jayaratne Chairman Ceylon Tourist board along with the Complex merchants, media and guests.
The program included acknowledgement by Harpo Gooneratne M D Harpo’s cafes & Restaurants, including Colombo Fort Cafe , on behalf of the merchants, to all who attended, followed by a brief presentation by Prashan De Visser – of Sri Lanka Unites who received a donation from the tenants towards the projects initiated by SLU. This involves counselling seminars for affected communities, trauma therapy for survivors and also children impacted by the events, series of discussions for the youth to counter further radicalization and an island wide tour on inter religious youth coalitions.
Followed up with lighting of oil lamps, in remembrance and performances by Magic Box Mix up , Voice Print,Minesh Dassanayake, Sam Dayaratne and Dream Caravan who all performed for the evening free of charge.
