The ‘Fabulous 50’ dinner dance was celebrated as one of the top events organized by the 90th batch of Ananda College. As the pandemic in 2021 had prevented its members from celebrating their 50th milestone, a dinner dance was held to celebrate the Old Anandian’s 50th Birthday together albeit a year later. 100 members residing locally and overseas along with their spouses joined together at Cinnamon Lakeside to dine and dance while Gypsies and B&S kept the audience entertained with their favourite songs till dawn.
The event featured a flash back of the members’ unforgettable memories of their schooldays. All the members got together to cut a variety of birthday cakes while the band played a medley of birthday songs in the background.
A grand dinner buffet and a breakfast buffet along with a raffle draw with an array of exciting prizes that included air tickets to Maldives and Bangkok, luxury hotel stays, and fine dining vouchers arranged by the dance committee added more lustre to the night’s excitement. The comperes for the night Sonali and Clifford made each and every detail of Fabulous 50 phenomenal. There were competitions and fun, prizes and surprises, floor shows and entertainment galore.
The dance floor was always filled to capacity with guests dancing their cares away and having a ball! Avanthi, Inoka, Manoja and Dineka together with other spouses of the 90th batch of Old Anandian’s might not have ever thought the secret arrangements they made to surprise their husbands would turn out to be a mega dance night which inevitably became the talk of the town. The Fabulous 50 came to an end after a long night of nonstop entertainment adding pleasant memories to treasure for a lifetime.
