The annual cake mixing ceremony was held at Club Hotel Dolphin to mark the beginning of the festive season. Both hotel staff and guests rolled up their sleeves and participated in a hearty mixing of dry fruits and nuts for plum cakes with spirits. The cake mixing ceremony was headed by the hotel’s very own Executive Chef, Suranga Gunasekera. Amid preparations, Eksath Wijeratne, Group General Manager of Browns Hotels & Resorts said, “Cake mixing is an age-old tradition dating back to the 17th century in Europe and we are very excited to be hosting this unique cake mixing ceremony right here in Waikkal – a region in the island that celebrates Christmas on a larger scale.” The hotel also declared open their spa at the same occasion.
