Every year the batch leaving organizes a graduation ball to mark the end of their time at CIS. This year the organizers, comprising entirely of students from this batch, pushed to provide their fellow batch mates with a final goodbye, memorializing the extraordinary few years they have gone through in the recent past. Although there were constant difficulties with protests outside the venue near Galle Face, and a fuel shortage, the end result could be considered a success in any year. The students, after facing online school, were exhilarated that they could have this event as it normally would. Teachers were equally impressed, and many called it the best graduation ball they had ever attended.

It was warming to see the help students were willing to give each other. It was ensured that cost was not a barrier for students to attend, and teachers who could not attend due to transport issues were ferried across by students who were able to. The Graduation Ball of 2022 was a reminder of the bonds that form between students and teachers in the course of your school life, bonds that provide the drive to get through times that oppose the course of an easy ride. We wish the Batch of 2022 all the best in times to come.
