The people of Sri Lanka are facing massive healthcare challenges due to the dire financial crisis the country is passing through. This situation has affected the health and well-being of many Sri Lankans. To help out the medical institutions and individuals that urgently need assistance, we established the Save A Dream initiative. During our consultations with the Consul General of Sri Lanka in Melbourne, and the Sri Lanka Medical Association (SLMA), the Perinatal Society of Sri Lanka, and the National Medicines Regulatory Authority (NMRA) in Sri Lanka, we found the most effective arena for us to intervene, was in saving the lives of new- born babies and infants.
Following this decision, we have purchased and delivered urgently needed Nitric Oxide gas cylinders, neonatal drugs, and other medical necessities to hospitals in Sri Lanka. Due to the extraordinary nature of the financial crisis, our undertaking has become extremely expensive. Hence our decision to hold the fund-raiser “Dance for A Cause” Dinner Dance, which with the active support, assistance and contributions was an outstanding success.
