Journalist and historian, Nicholas Brookes, author of An Island’s Eleven: The Story of Sri Lankan Cricket, was the Guest speaker at Leicestershire County Cricket Club (“LCCC”) for the Friends of Sri Lanka Association “FoSLA” Gala Fundraiser. Nicholas spoke about the island’s journey to cricketing fame, starting off with the first cricketer from the island to ever play for an English County, namely Stanley Jayasinghe (now 92 years old and living in Sri Lanka).
