My Golden Line, an exhibition of new work by Dileepa Jeewantha consists of work on paper, and these self portraits are a representation of the artist’s introspective gaze. Trained as a visual artist, Dileepa uses his fine art practice combined with an exaggeration of self, using his works to magnify his ego to highlight a contradiction within his own understanding of visual art. This play on ego, results in an unusual and quirky display of self portraits of the artist, painted skillfully yet seemingly random and spontaneous.
