Designer Sarita Rajendran’s The Monsoon Collection by Rachel Raj was launched at a garden party recently. The collection bursting with colours was inspired by the beautiful island of Sri Lanka. The lotus flower, golden sunsets, paddy fields, the azure sea, luscious green tea bushes, coconut trees and peacocks are all elements that motivated this collection. Shades of purple, blue, green, orange and red intertwined with luxurious fabrics hand painted in batik techniques, shibori dye and hand crafted embellishments with bohemian detailing created unique wearable art.
