Italian culinary genius Chef Carlo Cracco, who was in Sri Lanka in early March as part of The International Fund for Agricultural Development’s ‘Recipes for Change’ campaign, wowed a crowd at a reception hosted by the Ambassador of Italy to Sri Lanka and the Maldives Rita Giuliana Mannella at her residence.
IFAD’s ‘Recipes for Change’ campaign takes local flavours originating in developing countries and brings them to a global audience. The campaign highlights the story of how a rural community’s livelihoods are vulnerable to climate change and helps them adapt. At the reception for Chef Cracco, Ambassador Mannella presented the famed chef with a copy of ‘Dolce Vita in Serendib’, a book published by the Embassy of Italy in Colombo containing curated recipes from Italy.
