The salubrious hill station of Nuwara Eliya came alive recently when the Royal Turf Club held their annual races. The much looked forward to Governor’s Cup was held amidst a large gathering of horse racing aficanados. All though horse racing is viewed as a sport of the affluent, in Sri Lanka it has garnered a wide group of keen spectators. Several races were worked off over one day and was the highlight of the season in Nuwara Eliya.
