The Blossom and Bloom High Tea was held at the Grand Ballroom of Sheraton Melbourne recently. This ladies only event was organised by the Sirimavians in Melbourne in aid of the charity Anduren Eliyata’ (Darkness to Light). The event raised funds to provide 120 economically disadvantaged families with solar powered lighting in rural Sri Lanka who otherwise would rely on dangerous kerosene lamps for day to day functions. These donations will change the lives of many families and their children for years to come. The main attraction of the event was the Fashion Show comprising over fifteen stunning young models from Melbourne with fashion designers such as Thingz&Thingz by Akira with her batik dresses and sarees, Melbourne based Raabta Indian designer, Sister Story Boutique with casual wear and Laksha with her unique designs. This show was choreographed by former Miss Universe-Sri Lanka Marianne Page.
