A funky B&B with stylish vibes in the heart of Colombo
Travellers to Sri Lanka often overlook Colombo in favour of travelling out of the city as soon as possible in search of the sea and surf or verdant green pastures. However for intrepid travellers, exploring Colombo is a real reveal. Walking down the exciting streets of Pettah, the promenade at Galle Face or shopping around the capital’s exclusive boutiques Colombo has many hidden vistas waiting to be discovered.
For many, accommodation in Colombo can prove to be a real conundrum. With five star hotels and boutique villas in abundance, many priced high, the search for affordable accommodation can be daunting. Enter Srilax a mighty fine bed and breakfast in the heart of the capital.
On a little side road off the tree line road leading to the Independence Square tucked away in a corner is Srilax a funky abode with stylish vibes. An absolute delight, Srilax’s convenient location makes it a much sought after little B&B with affordable rates which adds to its attraction. One can faintly make out the cacophony of horns blaring as it drifts towards you, along with the distinct energy emanating from the city. However the vibes at Srilax are such that you are at once sheltered from the commotion but just within reach of the flurry of activity waiting to be discovered
Srilax was created by husband and wife duo, Isuru and Shana - a couple who share a love for tasteful design, good vibes and easy living. They subscribe to Rumi’s notion of “When you do things from your soul, you feel a river moving in you, a joy” and this is more than evident in the cosy B&B they have created.
