Uber talented Bassist Hussain Jiffry, a member of Herb Alpert and Lani Hall’s quintet, holds the coveted distinction of being the only Sri Lankan to have won a Grammy award in 2014 for their album ‘Steppin’ Out’. Hussain Jiffry’s meteoric rise to fame is a story that other artistes can only dream of. From playing in various bands in Sri Lanka to landing gigs with big names such as Dionne Warwick, Chaka Khan, Whitney Houston and Gloria Gaynor, Jiffry reached the pinnacle of his career when as an invaluable member of the Herb Alpert and Lani Hall quintet he won a Grammy Award in 2014 for the album “Steppin’ Out” which won the Best Pop Instrumental Album Award.
