What inspired your transition from being a beauty queen to pursuing a career in Public Relations and then politics?
I transitioned from being a Beauty Queen working the Public Service at the time and through several job offers, I chose Public Relations. Politics came 34 years later.
What led you to a career in Public Relations?
About one year from being named Miss Universe Australia in 1978, I was invited to trial work in a PR company run by two very prominent practitioners of the 70s – I took to it like a duck to water…and called on all my journalists and photographer mates to help me.
